Over fifty congregations have made a written commitment to support the work of Interfaith. Another 10-15 congregations lend a helping hand as well, providing volunteers, financial support and pantry donations, making possible the outreach ministry of Interfaith. By pooling their resources, the congregations reduce duplication of effort and assistance.
Rather than searching for help from the individual congregations, people in need can request assistance at the center at 1101 11th Street.
The material assistance provided might only help temporarily with the problem, but the emotional and spiritual support offered can make a real difference in a person’s perspective during a crisis.
In addition to congregations, Interfaith is supported by individuals, businesses, civic groups, schools and foundations.
Interfaith congregations refer families to the center for assistance and, in return, are asked to support IMI in four ways: with food for the pantry, financial contributions, volunteers and prayer.
